What is the need of creating segment under controlling? Is it for reporting profitability analysis for each segment.

Hello,

If you create a segment under controlling you will understand and track how many company codes in the organization as per the business requirements are performing.
for those cross-company codes, you will understand the consolidation process and segregate their business and financial statements including cost and market segments i.e. profitability analysis for each company code.
