Book Description

Since SAP is emphasizing recent developments in operations management in its SCM initiative, this book describes the methodological background from the viewpoint of a company using SAP systems. It describes order processing both in an intra- and interorganizational perspective, as well as describing future developments and system enhancements.

Customer Review

The book seems best for a newcomer to SAP’s software. It describes at a fairly high level the very complex set of packages that SAP offers. There is a topic that might be of especial interest to some readers. mySAP.com. This is an enterprise-wide portal plus a marketplace. In the computer press, it has received wide publicity. Partly because it gave employees a more role-based and more personalised view into their corporate resources. While the marketplace aspect was a reaction to the rise of the b2b startups during the dot com era. Though most of those startups failed, they did propagate the idea of a convenient marketplace on the Internet. The book shows how SAP implemented this.
