SAP IDES

Are you looking for an SAP IDES server that you can remotely access via the Internet? Do you need an SAP system that can be used for training, self-study or any other purpose? Do you want to be sure that the SAP server has a high-speed connection to the Internet and runs 100% legal software? We reviewed companies that provide SAP IDES access and made a list of the best providers. Hopefully our list will be helpful for you in choosing the right company for getting remote access to SAP systems.

#10 ERP Training Tech – The Newest S/4HANA Systems but Bad Feedback from People

Website: https://erptrainingtech.com

Price: 47 USD per month

ERP Training Tech claim to be offering IDES access services since 2013. Their site is one of the top ones in Google and they offer very wide selection of available SAP systems. This company claims to be motivated by helping their fellow student community to offer “the fastest and most complete servers in various technologies with the best quality possible”. It is probably best to be a bit skeptical about claims like this one. An option to receive a refund within 5 days of purchase is advertised on the website but we couldn’t verify it.

Pros:

  • Good prices
  • Newest SAP systems
  • A large variety of available systems

Cons:

  • Multiple reports of scam – please beware and see the comments below
  • Difficult to confirm if their services are properly licensed

#9 101ERP – Cheap but not Trustworthy

Website: sapaccess.101erp.com

Price: 19.99 USD for 1 month

101ERP seems to be a shady company that provides access to SAP systems. Their website doesn’t work very well and I don’t feel certain that you will receive the service they promise after your payment. Therefore, our recommendation is to steer away from these guys.

Pros:

  • Very cheap price

Cons:

  • Not trustworthy

#8 SAP Quick Access – Cheap and Shady

Website: sapquickaccess.com

Price: 15 USD per month

The website called SAP Quick Access suggests you to subscribe for online access to their SAP IDES for practice, training and self-study purpose. They claim that their main aim is to give quick access to their customer with the top class support. These guys look as shady as the previous company in our rating but at least their prices are lower. So, they are getting a better position because at least you risk a less amount of money by contacting them.

Pros:

  • Very cheap price

Cons:

  • Not trustworthy, risk to loose money

#7 SandboxSAP – Provider of SAP Remote Access & Installation

Website: idesremote.com

Price: 40 USD per month

SandboxSAP position themselves as a company that offers remote access to IDES servers since 2007. Unfortunately, we were not able to verify this statement. This provider offers a large variety of SAP systems and their prices can be described as average on the market. The legitimacy of their service remains an open question because nowhere is specified how they obtain SAP licenses.

Pros:

  • The company is around for a long time (according to their website)

Cons:

  • Questions about legitimacy of the service

#6 LEARNSAP – SAP Training Company that Offers Access to SAP IDES Sandboxes

Website: learnsap.com

Price: 75 USD for 1 month

The main business of the company called LEARNSAP is related to SAP training. However, they also provide remote access to their SAP training servers. The choice of the SAP systems is not very large and there is no possibility to get a developer key. Overall, there is nothing special in the services that they offer and it does not seem to be a good idea to buy access to SAP IDES from this company unless you are also taking there training courses.

Pros:

  • White-hat company located in US

Cons:

  • A very limited number of SAP systems is available

#5 ERPtrainingUK – Low Cost SAP IDES Provider with Free Developer Keys

Website: www.erptraininguk.com

Price: 28 USD for 1 month

One of the most interesting features of the service provided by the company called ERPtrainingUK is that they offer free developer key with every account. It means that everybody can perform ABAP development and modify SAP systems in whatever way they want. From the first look such an approach seems to be a great deal but there is also a significant downside. Since everybody has authorisation for modifying ABAP code, the SAP systems do not run reliably and often need to be refreshed. It also means that functional SAP consultants will feel like in a nightmare while trying to customise a business process because ABAP developers will constantly break or modify some functionality.

Pros:

  • Low cost
  • Good for ABAPers

Cons:

  • Not suitable for functional SAP consultants
  • We have doubts if this company actually has SAP licenses because it is not possible to offer developer keys for free

#4 RentOurServer – US-Based Company that Welcomes Negotiation of Prices

Website: rentourserver.com

Price: 100 USD for 1 month

RentOurServer offers access to a large variety of SAP IDES servers. They also provide developer keys and access to OSS notes for additional fees. This company also offers to buy their video tutorials for two or three SAP modules. Prices for video tutorials are from 1000 USD. Interestingly, this company also invites everybody to negotiate their prices. There is a form on their website where you can propose your price and see if they accept it or not.

Pros:

  • Legitimate provider with SAP licenses
  • Opportunity to purchase access to OSS portal

Cons:

  • Not very cheap
  • Developer keys need to be purchased separately

#3 IDESACCESS – Provider of SAP IDES Servers in Evaluation Mode

Website: http://www.idesaccess.com

Price: 59.99 USD per month

The company behind this website offers SAP IDES access to the general public. They claim to be in this business since 2001 but check if it is actually true. This is a “virtual” company and it looks a bit shady because there is no contact information on their website that mentions where they are physically located. IDESACCESS explicitly state that they do not pay for any SAP licenses and explain that selling access to SAP systems under evaluation licenses is fine.

Pros:

  • They seems to be around for a long time

Cons:

  • Prices are above average
  • Not clear if is the service is legal

#2 Michael Management Corporation – SAP Training Company with a Separate SAP IDES Offering

Website: www.michaelmanagement.com

Price: 99 USD per month

Michael Management Corporation is company that provided SAP training for long time. Last year, they introduced a new service of SAP Access for everybody. This US-based company offers remote access to the most demanded SAP systems as well as access to OSS notes with their most expensive subscription. Since the company earns a lot of money from SAP training they also dictate high prices for SAP IDES access.

Pros:

  • Reputable company
  • Licensed SAP software

Cons:

  • Expensive
  • No free trial available

#1 SAP SE – A Bit Pricey but the Best Option

Website: training.sap.com

Price: 191 USD for 20 hours of access (that must be consumed within 30 days)

SAP SE (the company that developed SAP software) has recently introduced a new service that they called SAP Live Access which allows anybody to connect to their SAP systems and practice skills of customising, developing, and understanding SAP.

Pros:

  • You receive the service from SAP itself

Cons:

  • Too expensive and very limited time for access

    • Until recently I had been using easysapaccess.com and their service had been excellent and cheap. Over four years there had been some downtime but nothing beyond normal.

I am an independent consultant and between contracts, I used the system extensively to explore modules and generally keep up to speed.

ABAP is my main area of interest but using the DEV environment, I was able to create Company Codes, Sales Organisations, Purchasing Organisations, Warehouses....you name it. From there I created my own data and fed it in using LSMW/BDC/BAPI etc.

Then, earlier this year my connection failed and stayed down. My emails were returned as 'undeliverable' and the website was gone. They still owe me three months subscription.

Fortunately, I do have copies of all my data, code and detailed notes on how my company was set up. Even so, setting it all up again will take a lot of effort.

Moral of the story: Don't rely on your service provider to take care of your work. It does not matter if they do backups. If their company goes down then your data and code goes with it. Make copies of everything you can't afford to lose.

      • Hi Phil,

Thanks for the advise, Its really important for backup of all our own data.

I want to know more how did you back it up all the data in their system.

I am fairly new to Data Backup.

        Thanks
        Hitesh

        • Backup?

I use the server for my spare time study so the code and data are not so critical for me.

But, the code I simply copy-paste into a text document and save it on my own PC.
The data is obviously not so easy. You cant just update (say) MARA with a copy of your own.

I do use BDC/BAPI to load data plus the data I work with in a spreadsheet. So, even if their system vanishes off the face of the Earth, I can do a partial restore at least.

I had set up an entire company in the DEV system. From Company Code all the way down to Shipping-Points, Purchase Org and Sales Org and Material Data. All gone save my personal charts.

The Company-related data runs across multiple tables, so backup would be complicated. I did think to try some BDC at one point but never got around to it.

Unless you are renting a server exclusively, then you are pretty much at their mercy when it comes to keeping things safe.

          • Hi Phil,
Can you please provide your chart of entire org. structure you had created?
Would be really helpful since I'm really struggling on the FI part of the setup and other modules would be nice to have in case, my config. has gone wrong somewhere.

            Best Regards,
            Sam

  • Hi! Could you tell me if the there is a similar monthly access I can pay for, for SAP HR access?

    Thank you in advance.

    • I think that several companies offers SAP BI of version 7.0. So, it is a newer version of BI.

      • Thanks for your reactivity. It seems that SAP Business object BI4 (which replaces BEx Tools) works from SAP BW 7.1 to newer release but I will try it with the free 24h trial. I let you know.
        See you.
