I think that having a certification will help. It is always difficult to get back to the job market after a career break. You just need to be persistent and don’t give up.

To be honest, I don’t think that there are some public courses about differences between these two versions of SAP Business Suite. I’d recommend to start from SAP Service Marketplace as it has some documentation about upgrade procedures.

Hi Zodean, can you please clarify what “SAP Accreditation” do you mean?

I think you should talk with your manager or career counselor and find out if Accenture can sponsor you to pass SAP certification. Based on your background, it looks like BW certification is more appropriate for you.

If you have the budget for official training from SAP, then I recommend SAP Learning Hub.

I think that it will be easier for you stay in SAP ERP area rather than switch to SAP B1 because SAP B1 is completely different software product. Why don’t you check MM or PP modules? They share some concepts with SAP PLM, so your background will be helpful.

Well, SAP Education often changes their policies. If you are currently located in MENA region, can you please give them a call and ask questions about the current situation with requirements for registration?

I would also very much appreciate if you could share their replies here on the forum, so that this information is available for other people who are considering getting SAP certified.

If you want to get a certification, then you should go for consultant level training. SAP doesn’t offer certifications for end users. You might consider TERP10 certification as its target audience is customers and consultants who are new to the SAP ERP solution. For training in India, check these institutes: SAP training in India.

First, you should decide in which area of SAP you would like to work. I recommend to read this article to get some idea: how to choose SAP module. Next, it is good to get some SAP training because it will increase your chances for finding a job. And of course you need a lot of passion and persistence to achieve your career goals.

But don’t worry, there is nothing impossible for those who try hard and don’t give up!

Material master and vendor master data are used in different SAP modules but primarily in SAP MM (Materials Management). So, have a look at SAP MM course.

SAP Education has some requirements in each region for people who would like to register for SAP certification. I think that you’ve mentioned them already. If you cannot fulfill these requirements, I am afraid that you won’t be allowed to register for SAP certification.

Perhaps, you might travel to Europe or US for passing SAP certification to avoid these requirements. Also, here is a post with more information about registration for SAP certification in MENA region.

    I hope it helps.

    Hi Vinod,

I am not sure you will be able to find a good job in SAP FI/CO area without prior experience in SAP consulting. Unless, it will be some intern SAP job. I guess that changing career field always includes some degree of risk. If you can find some part-time SAP job, that will be a safe way to make a transition. I cannot advise if SAP consulting is good career option for you because I know very little about SAGE ERP and associated career prospects.

    I hope it helps!

Your experience will be highly beneficial for a career of SAP FI consultant because this role requires strong knowledge of finance and accounting. However, you definitely won’t be compared to people who have 16 years of SAP consulting experience. So, you will have a better standing than a fresh university graduate but still most likely to be considered for less senior SAP positions. I hope my answer helps!
